Peter Becker Still Doesn't Care About Jacques Rivette

We'll post this again because it never gets old. Maybe someone at Criterion is listening this time.

And a big thanks to Eric and Kenton for putting this video together several months ago.

Good for Peter Becker! I still can't get over how lame LA BELLE NOISEUSE was... it haunts me with its wasted effort, time I'll never get back, and too much money in the hands of all the wrong people.

Wow. I couldn't disagree with you more. Which other Rivette films have you seen, and also, are you kidding?

I'm not a big fan of LA BELLE NOUSEUSE, either, but I absolutely love Rivette. Thankfully, though the miracle of the internet, I've been able to obtain custom-subbed copies of films like LE PONT DU NORD (maybe his best) and HAUT BAS FRAGILE. These films still need legit English-friendly releases, though and of course, there's always L'AMOUR FOU and OUT 1, two of the most glaring holes in Criterion's catalogue. I hope the next release announces are remotely exciting.

Rivette was a great film, of course making a comparative between Rivette and La belle nouseuse, Rivette is by far greater.
