Lionsgate's Alain Delon Collection

Like their Bridget Bardot DVD collection, Lionsgate will be releasing a second star-themed boxset from their Studio Canal library on 3/25, this time it's the amazing Alain Delon. SRP $39.98

The titles will include:

The Widow Couderc (1971; Pierre Granier-Deferre)
Diabolically Yours (1967; Julien Duvivier)
La Piscine (1969; Jacques Deray)
Le Gitan (1975; Jose Giovanni)
Notre Histoire (1984; Bertrand Blier)

The Duvivier title is one that's been high on my list for quite a while now. Very excited about this. The last time I spoke with Lionsgate, there was talk of releasing a Jacques Deray boxset, so it's possible that has since fizzled.

Check back here for covers, as always! And is it me or has every day this week brought us great DVD news?

At least they didn't go for some of those C-grade Delon films he made throughout the 80s. I was afraid of that when I saw it announced without titles.

Excellent news...there are some really special titles in this set, especially DIABOLICALLY YOURS and LA PISCINE. Thanks for the alert.

Thanks for the list of movie-titles in this collection (which neither amazon.co/.com/.fr was able to provide). Good to see that this is a completely different set of movies than the Screen Icons Collection. A definetely must buy even though I would have preferred to see more of his movies from the 60's.

Does anyone know if the transfers for Delon's films will be anamorphic?

Yes. I'm not sure what the aspect ratios are for each title, but the non academy-ratio films are anamorphic.
