The New Rivette's Official Website
Anyone else counting the seconds?....
And so emerges the website for Jacques Rivette's latest crème de la crème, The Duchess of Langeais (formerly Ne touchez pas la hache or Don't Touch The Axe for French audiences, who think of royal beheadings as opposed to Eli Roth when encountering that sentence).
The film will begin its round through the art-house circuit starting February 22nd at the IFC Center. Check back at the website for future dates, and of course, check back here for news of its DC showings -- if we are so lucky.

I'm not counting the seconds, but I finally got around to La Belle noiseuse with much adoration.
Eagerly counting the seconds, even. At least the wait isn't quite as long as the one for the new Van Sant -- March! Ugh.
I like the French title way better, though. This new one just makes me think of Rohmer's Marquise of O... -- which maybe isn't such a bad thing after all.
